There are some events and festivals in Würzburg that are carried out regularly and really worth a visit.
Africa Festival
The Africa Festival in Würzburg is the largest event for African culture and music in Europe. It takes place every year in late May on the "Mainwiesen" northwest of the river Main.
On ten days in June every year, the "Umsonst & Draussen", short "U & D", is carried out on the "Mainwiesen" as well. National and international renowned bands play here.
Another important festival - of classical music - is the Mozart Festival. As it is already 85 years old, it is festival with the longest tradition in Würzburg. It takes place every year in June / July and lasts for four weeks.
As Würzburg is the capital of the Franconian wine region in Germany, many wine festivals of different kinds are carried out throughout the year that you should not miss as well of course.
